THE SUNDAY HOME:
Family Magazine for Sabbath Reading
Religious Tract Society
Paternoster Row, 164, Piccadilly
London: Printed by William Clowes & Sons Stamford Street and Charing Cross
There are 828 pages in this large book. The boards are half leather and measure 8.50 x 11 inches. The book is about 2 inches thick. Sunday at Home and 1875 are stamped in gilt on the backstrip.
The textblock and boards are together but there is light between the front board and text block. The pages are lightly age toned. Page 107 is torn--none missing.
The Index is in the front and there is a separate listing for the engravings in the book--around 150 engravings--also there are beautiful color and toned plates. Some of the plates are sepia toned but with a shiny finish. The frontispiece is an illustrated poem by J. Hampden Gurney. There are 12 coloured or toned plates--the second picture on the listing shows one of the plates--the one shown is titled Old Fashioned Flowers.
The pages are in good condition--no marks except for John Weir's name, which is written on the title page. Questions are welcome.
