Offered: 'The Faith of A Heretic' by Walter Kaufmann. This rare, as stated first edition book is published by Doubleday & Company Inc., Garden City New York, 1961.
'This is a modern attempt to answer the timeless questions: What can I believe? How should I live? What may I hope? Since Kant first suggested that all the interests of reason are focused in problems of this sort, most philosophers have shied away from the Big Questions to become specialists in logic, history, or questions of meaning.
This book represents a philosopher's attempt to deal with the quest for honesty, with commitment, theology, suffering, the Bible, organized religion, morality, and death.'
This book is in Very Good condition with no writing or underlining in the text. There are 432 pages, all intact and clean. The boards are green with silver print. There is light wear on the edges. The dust jacket is also in Very Good condition with a 1 1/2 inch tear, top left. There is a price written on the inside flap.
This first edition book is rare and hard to find.
I will be glad to answer any and all questions.
