I purchased Miss Ida M. Chubb's Little Pickaninnies in 1997 in Richmond, VI. at an antique action. I think I paid 50 cent for it. What a great find. I don't think I would ever sell it because it is a part of the African American history and not meant to be racist. Of course by today's standards, this book can be thought of as hurtful, harmful, racist and politically incorrect, however if studied closely, you can discover in some ways where Ebonics derived. I am an African American woman and these are my thoughts, opinions, and view of the Little Pickaninnies by Ida M. Chubb.
