Started in 1933 amid the depression....this book furnishes lots of details describing the way Esquire was started and how it has perservered over the next twenty years, and celebrated with this awesome compilation in 1953. Many, many literary talents with stories retold: John Stienbeck, Ray Bradbury, Ernst Hemingway etc....so many more, but with a twist, explanations of how the stories were aquired....that make rereading them interesting.
A large section of reprints ( 84)of original photos, drawings and artworks....we called them cartoons. Seventy three stories....edited by Arnold Gingrich.
Pristine condition with plastic covered DJ. Red binding. Possibly 1st Ed...ask questions. Note: The dust jacket has some damage, but the plastic covering has stopped the crumbling. Blue Front and Back boards, corners are perfect and red binding. Original price $6.00 and has 649 pages. Some yellowing to paper as it wasn't the best paper printed on? Readable...binding is tight.
