This auction is for a really unique item. This is an Ames & Rollinson illuminated manuscript given to one Duncan MacGregor upon his retirement as an employee of the Stock Clearing Corporation in 1930. The illuminated calligraphy on the stiff Japon-type paper is beautiful. Ames & Rollinson were known for their handmade production of calligraphy and illuminated document. They were located in New York City. This particular document which is house inside an Ames & Rollinson leather binding cover with Macgregor's initials on front was presented to Duncan MacGregor upon his retirment in November of 1929 some two weeks after the October crash of 1929. His retirement took effect on Janurary of 1930 and the last page is signed by what I presume to be officers of the Stock Clearing Corporation. The illuminated manuscript is on 16 pages and this has been placed inside the leather binding. A unique illuminated book and a great stock market crash 0f 1929 association item. Domestic US shipping only at $10.00. Payment must be received within 10 days of auction close.
