The item for sale is a terrific Limited Edition, First Edition of a book titled 'Fish Facts and Fancies' by F. Gray Griswold, published in 1926 by Charles Scribner's Sons. Griswold (1854-1937) was a noted fisherman and sportsman who wrote a multitude of books regarding all types of fishing all over the world. This book is dedicated to Freshwater and SaltWater Fishing, focusing primarily on salmon, with a lesser attention to albacore tuna, marlin, and eel. He addresses topics such as salmon lore, the senses of the fish, their breeding habits, etc...This is both practical and theoretical, with attention to rods and tackle as well as the salmon's 'upstream journey.' It is beautifully illustrated with photographs, diagrams, etchings, and the like. The condition of the book is like new, with a tight spine, no corner bumping or soiling, foxing or tearing. It has the name of the prior owner stamped into the first blank page. It has the name and author in gold gilt on the spine but lacks a dust jacket. Feel free to ask questions and Thanks for Looking!
