The Call of the Wild, Jack London, 1903, First Edition, some scuffing on cover (as shown). New York, The MacmIllan Company; Norwood Press - J.S. Cushing And Co., Norwood, Mass, USA.

THE CALL OF THE WILD, Jack London's masterpiece, tells the gripping tale of a dog named Buck who is wrenched out of his life of ease and luxury to become a sled dog in Alaska. Drawing on his wolf heritage, Buck must fight for survival in an alien environment.

Published in 1903, The Call of the Wild is one of London's most-read books, and it is generally considered one of his best. Because the protaganist, a dog, it is sometimes classified as a juvenile novel, suitable for children, but it is dark in tone and contains numerous scenes of cruelty and violence.
