'Cassell's Book of Birds from the text of Dr. Brehm by Thomas Rymer Jones, F.R.S., Professor of Natural History & Comparative Anatomy in King's College, London' - This is Volume III of Four Volumes - London: Cassell, Petter, and Galpin; and New York. with 312 pages & measuring approximately 10.25' x 7.50', which I think is from the late 1800's. There are ten coloured plates and over 100 b/w 'wood engravings'. Contents include climbing birds, tree climbers, humming birds, kingfisher, the cuckoos, pigeons, partridges, pheasants and more.
I think that this book is in good condition for the age. The front & back cover boards are very scruffed, but binding is clean & tight. The pages show age with yellowing and some scattered age spots, but not bad. There are small tears on a couple front pages and tears on page 69 and 71. Page 191 & 192 are bent at the bottom corner. There is plate damage on page 195(shown in last picture) with pencil marks. A couple of the other plates show some age spots.
I accept PayPal within 5 days of auction ending. Insurance is optional, but always recommended. Please look at all the pictures and email any questions or concerns before bidding. All sales are final. Thank you.
