Franck, Harry: Foot-Loose in the British Isles / Being a desultory and not too serious account of sixteen months of living in England and peregrinating hither and yon throughout Great Britain. New York & London: Century Co., (1932); 3rd printing, with prior owner's signature dated December 25, 1935.
Octavo, 8.25' x 5.5'; 426pp. Bound in brilliant yellow cloth, with designs in black, dark blue and reddish brown.
The DJ turn-in has this to say about 'the Prince of Vagabonds': 'Mr. Franck has probably gone to more places and told more truth about them than any other writer alive. For the better part of 30 years he has prowled over the face of the earth with his notebook, camera, courage, and invincible honesty. His books are not only entertaining travel narratives, they are also treasures of carefully collected and judiciously interpreted information.'
Condition is Near Fine in a G or better DJ: book is almost literally like new! Only hints of discoloration deep in the hinges, and prior owner's signature to front free endpaper.
The DJ shows shallow chippings to the upper front panel and upper spine. A couple of smaller triangular chips at lower edges of spine. Enclosed in a neat mylar slip.
