Included in this auction is the scarce title Pamela and the Blue Mare by Alice L. O'Connell, illustrated by Paul Brown, Little Brown and Company, 4th printing August 1955. The book is in good condition with a tight binding and bright pages. There is very slight wear around the edges. The cover and binding are bright red with a small area of fading at the top right-hand corner. The cover is decorated with a black illustration of Pamela on Frosty, the mare. The dustjacket is price-clipped. There is chipping and small tears around the edges with a larger chip missing from the front cover at the top edge (see photo). The back of the dustjacket features a cute illustration of Pamela astride Frosty. There is a word written in pen at the top edge.
This is the story of Pamela and her mare 'Frosty Morning' (Frosty) that helps her overcome her fear of horses. 'So began the friendship of Pamela and Frosty, in which each did much for the other; each learned a great deal; and each had glorious fun. First Pam had to be 'schooled' herself in all the fascinating details of good horsemanship, and then it was her turn to do the same for Frosty'.
