As far as I know this is the first edition, published in 1933. The book is in very good condition with one minor exception; someone put a sticker on the inside of the front cover (see picture). I removed part of the sticker so that the signature of the original owner can be seen but was afraid to remove more of it because I didn't want to ruin the front cover. There is quite a bit of historical significance that comes with this book! The book was originally given as a gift to H. G. Eckstein in 1933 by his daughter, Myrtle Baldwin. H. G. Eckstein was the Vice-president of the 'Cracker Jack' company in the early 1900's and he was the person that invented the wax packaging that Cracker Jacks used for years, they might still use it but I am not sure. Myrtle Eckstein married E. J. 'Lucky' Baldwin's son in the early 1900's (not sure of the date) and that is why it is signed 'Myrtle Baldwin'. Lucky Baldwin was famous in Southern California and the city of Baldwin Park is named after him. The Santa Anita Racetrack was originally on Lucky Baldwin's ranch. The book was discovered in H. G. Eckstein's 'winter home' in Upland California and has never been on the market until today. All of the pages appear to be intact and the outside cover is not torn or scratched. There appears to be a few stains on the outside back cover but they might come out, I am just afraid to try and remove them due to the age of the book. Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com for more pictures or a better description of the book.
