Official cook book of the U.S. Navy published by the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts, printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washingon, 1944. In 430 pages are recipes for everything from 100 portions of veal fricassee (start with 35 pounds of boneless veal) to making 17 (10') coconut cream pies (stir in 3 pounds shredded coconut to the basic cream filling.) There are also pages of sample menus, tips for making flaky pastry or tasty sandwiches, along with weights and approximate equivalents of some common foods. As I write this, I wonder why I am willing to sell it!
